How to choose best suitable Processor for your computer or laptop

stechnotrick choose processor

You must know what processor is best suitable to buy in your budget. A wrong perception about processor sometimes make you spend more money. Here Im trying to make you more familiar to the different processors available in market, and I will suggest you to what processor you should buy according to your requirement.

Many companies are manufacturing processors, but in todays market competition Intel and AMD have their own name as a superior manufactures. HP and IBM have also developed their processor products.

Intel Processors:

Intel has manufactured many processors starting from 8086 series to Pentium. Pentium has many versions; and all are very responsive. After Pentium, Intel launched Dual-Core and Core-2-duo (latest). Basically, core means processor, and dual core contains two processors embedded on PC chip. So the dual core processors are comparatively much faster and efficient.

If PC chip is embedded with two processor called as dual core, and if embedded with four processors then called as quadcore processor. It should be noted that more in numbers of processors, the more in speed of system.

Core i processor :
Core i is a brand name of Intel processor, which are multicore processor. These are very famous processors now days. Intel has launched a big series of processors of brand core i named core i3, core i5, core i7, core i9. The  number of count progress, the more advance in processing speed. These processors are comparatively expensive but very faster and efficient.

Intel has manufactured Atom processor for Netbook and Tablets; which are cheaper and having with less processing speed.
Intel has also manufactured Itanium processor mostly used in server, where you need a good speed of data processing. That has really amazing speed.
Celeron processor are the cheaper processor made by Intel; used at home for general applications.

AMD processors:

AMD company developed Sempron and Athlone to face Celeron processor. Phenom and Turion are the high speed processors developed by AMD.

Now the question arise how to select the processor according to your requirement. Im giving a list where you can select your best one justify your budget and requirement.

Celeron- General home usage
Dual core or Core i3 processor- Good for MS Office, music, internet, video watching.
Core2duo or Core i5 processor- Good for office applications, HD movies, YouTube videos.
Core i7 processor- Graphics, video editing and Programming.

I hope this will helps you if you are a newbiee. For any query, feel free to comment.

iPhone Dev Team Releases Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4 3 1

Three years ago (almost to the day!), the first version of PwnageTool was released for firmware 1.1.4. So today we’re excited to release another edition of both PwnageTool and redsn0w to bring an untethered jailbreak for Apple’s latest firmware, FW 4.3.1.

WARNING WARNING — ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! See a few paragraphs down!

The 4.3.1 untether exploit comes courtesy of Stefan Esser (@i0n1c on twitter), a security researcher based in Germany. Stefan has a long history of vulnerability research, and ironically his first contribution to the iPhone jailbreak community was improved security — last year he beat Apple to the punch and implemented ASLR for jailbroken iPhones with his “antid0te” framework. We’re happy to see that Stefan then turned his iPhone attention over to an untethered jailbreak exploit!

The 4.3.1 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.1 except for the iPad2:

iPhone3GS
iPhone4 (GSM)
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad1
AppleTV 2G (PwnageTool only for now)
The reason the untether won’t work as-is on the iPad2 is that it requires a bootrom or iBoot-level exploit to install, and the iPad2 is not susceptible to either the limera1n or SHAtter bootrom exploits.

WARNING WARNING — ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! We need to first release an update to ultrasn0w that fixes some incompatibilities when FW 4.3.1 is used on the older basebands supported by ultrasn0w. And remember once we do fix ultrasn0w for 4.3.1 (we’ll announce it here and on twitter), you must only get there via a custom IPSW from PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze or xpwn! Don’t ever try to restore or update to a stock IPSW, or you’ll lose the unlock!

For everyone else, redsn0w is the easier program to use (and redsn0w runs on both Mac and Windows).

DOWNLOAD section:

For MAC users:
http://www.mediafire.com/?vv5jvmcpiyrr2p6
For Win users:

HOW TO:

NOTE: the process is identical on both Mac OSX and Windows, and also identical with previous redsn0w releases. The images used in this tutorial are from previous redsn0w tutorial, so do not be alarmed.

1. Restore your device with a stock iOS 4.2.1 firmware. ( again, by doing this you will loose the ability to unlock!!!)

2. Run redsn0w, and click on browse. Browse for the stock iOS 4.2.1 and open it

3. Wait for redsn0w to recognize it and click ‘Next’

4. On the next screen select what you want to be installed on your iOS device(s). By default, Cydia and ‘enable battery percentage’ is selected. I suggest you deselect battery percentage and everything else, and just install Cydia. This will improve ( a bit ) the overall speed of your device – if you are on a iPhone 3G. If you choose to “Enable battery percentage”, you actually toggle that off and on via Settings->General->Usage.

IF you only need to restore with a custom firmware, deselect everything, and select only “Just enter pwned DFU mode right now”

5. redsn0w will ask you to turn your device off. If it’s not already off, plug it in FIRST and then turn it off. Click next to continue

6. Now, you will need to put your device in DFU mode. Follow the instructions on the screen.

7. Wait a few seconds for redsn0w to do its thing, and you are done. You can close redsn0w because everything else it’s happening directly on the device.

NOTE: Any Windows users seeing “Waiting for reboot” for too long (more than 20 seconds or so), please try “shaking” the JB process by unplugging then replugging your USB cable (while letting redsn0w continue to run). Also, try using a USB port “closer” to your computer (as opposed to on your monitor or behind another hub).

A Proxy Server For Siri Hack Without Jailbreak and tools

Hacker Creates A Proxy Server For Siri

Few days back, hacker at Applidlium had managed to crack Siri is security protocol that made Siri limited for iPhone 4S only. A hacker today created a proxy server for iPhone 4S’ Siri which named Siri Proxy.

Applidium hack says that idea behind the proxy server is to make it easy for developers to add unlimited functionality to Siri. He released the source code of the created Siri Proxy with the instructions on how to set it up on the well known social coding site – GitHub.

Moreover, the hacker has also demonstrated how the created proxy server works by crating a plugin to control a Wi-Fi thermostat, commands such as “What is the status of the thermostat?” or “Set the thermostat to 68 degrees”, or even “What’s the inside temperature?”.

Hack Without Jailbreak

He mentioned that this wont let you get Siri on other device, it just for you to add your own functions to Siri.

Quote:
I’m the creator of this particular hack, and I can assure you, it doesn’t require the iPhone to be jailbroken. My iPhone 4S is not jailbroken. The only action I needed to take on my iPhone was to install my fake Root CA. Which you can do without jailbreaking. Everything else is done outside of the phone, so it requires no jailbreaking or code to be placed on the phone itself.

Free legal Siri port for all jailbroken iOS 5 devices now available

Following our multiple looks at private Siri ports to unsupported iOS 5 devices with the help of developer Steven Troughton-Smith, Chpwn and Ryan Petrich went public today with a Siri port called Spire.
The port mirrors all the iPhone 4S Siri functionality and works on the jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch, and first generation iPad. We previously revealed that iPod touch Siri performance is not on par with iPhone Siri performance due to the lower quality microphone system.
Spire is available free on the Cydia jailbroken application market, and the download comes in at approximately 100mb, according to a blog post from Chpwn. The developers recommend that users connect to a Wi-Fi network for downloading, not a standard cellular network, because of the large file size.
A few Siri ports have gone public through jailbreak application markets in the past few weeks, but they were deemed unsafe and illegal by the development community due to its distribution of Apple copyrighted materials.
“Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts,” said Chpwn
Of course, with any port of this kind, there will be a caveat: you have to still gain authorization through your own server and an iPhone 4S. Chpwn explained the issue:

However, Spire is not a complete solution. Apple still requires authorization to use Siri, so information from an iPhone 4S is still required. To insert this information, Spire allows you to enter your own proxy server address. By using this (ancient) SiriProxy fork, you can setup a proxy using your own iPhone 4S to insert the needed information reasonably easily. Other solutions for proxying Siri will be listed here as they are developed — perhaps that sort of proxy might be included in the main SiriProxy repository.
“Until the iPhone 4S is jailbroken, this is the best Siri port,” said Steven Troughton-Smith, “when the iPhone 4S is jailbroken, then we can avoid the proxy server issues.” Spire can be downloaded from this link, if you are on a jailbroken iOS 5 devices.

How To Install Fully Functional Mac OS X Lion Virtual Machine inside Windows 7 [UPDATE: 10.7.2]

UPDATE] Tested and confirmed that the free version of VMware Player works just as good as VMware Workstation. [UPDATE Oct 2nd 2011] Updated broken link for VMware unlocker, added Audio / Sound driver for VMware Mac OS Lion
[UPDATE Oct 13th 2011] Please update to 10.7.1 and take a snapshot of your working system before any attempts update to the latest 10.7.2 update release, which will likely cause kernel panic. You can download the update patch to 10.7.1 here
[UPDATE Oct 17th 2011] See update below on how to update your VM Lion to 10.7.2 latest release of Lion
[UPDATE Dec 5th 2011] Updated broken link for VMware unlocker mirror1, mirror2

The topic of “Hackintosh” has become ever popular ever since Apple started using Intel as their CPU provider in 2006. Since PC and Mac basically running on the same hardware there is no reason why you can’t try out the Mac OS X on your PC. This marked the birth of the Hackintosh community, after years of development now making your own Hackintosh has become easier then before.
Although, the process of making your own Hackintosh from scratch has become easier, there are still many things you need to pay attention to. Especially for a beginner, it’s still a quite difficult process to go though. (If you are looking for a Hackintosh guide be sure to checkout the new updated guide on Snow Leopard rom hardware selection to end installation)
So here instead of a guide for a real Hackintosh OS X Lion, this will be a guide on

How to create and install Mac OS X Lion Virtual Machine inside your Windows 7

If Hackintosh is not new to you, you will have no problem to follow along with this guide. If you are new to this “Hackintosh” thing, don’t worry this isn’t the real Hackintosh and installing on a Virtual Machine meaning it doesn’t matter what you do, you can always recover or start from scratch again without damaging your perfectly working Windows 7 environment.
To start, here are the following tools and items you need to have:

  • VMware Workstation 7.1+ (get the latest version) or even better free version of VMware Player will work as well
  • After many readers’ respond, it looks like it’s a good idea to download and install VMware Workstation Click here to enlargeeven with a free trail, for initial setups. Afterwards you can use VMware Player to run the VM.
  • Download the Mac OS X VMware unlocker Mac OS X VMware unlocker mirror1, mirror2 and other helper ([UPDATE] VMware unlocker link)
  • Download the Audio / Sound driver for VMware Mac OS X Lion if you want to get audio working as well (thanks to Manas commentator)
  • Download the bootable “Mac OS X Lion bootable vmdk” (find it on Google should be around 4.12GB in size)
  • At least 4GB of RAM
  • At least 40 GB of Hard Drivespace
Make sure you have the above tool ready, after you’ve installed VMware workstation run the Mac OS X VMware unlocker

Pick a location to extract the file.
Go to the location you’ve just extracted the file. should be something like this Mac OS X Lion VMware FilesVMware Unlocker – Mac OS X Guest
shift + right click on the folder “VMware Workstation Unlocker –Windows” to “Open command window here”
Run “windows.bat” command
When this is done you should see something like the above screenshot.
Now navigate back to the folder Mac OS X Lion VMware FilesMac OS X Lion find the named Mac OS X Lion.vmx and double click.
This will open the VMware Workstation, you should see something like the following
Now click Edit virtual machine settings

Here you want to add a new hard disk which will contain the vmdk you’ve just downloaded. Click “Add..” select “Hard Disk” Click next
Select “Use an existing virtual disk”
Browse and find the vmdk file, click “Open”
Click “Finish” when you done.
The reason you want to add another hard drive is that in the original setting, the 40GB has no OS on it, therefore VMware will try to boot off the OS from the second disk (the vmdk file) which will load and boot into Lion Installer.
Now back to the main menu, click “Power on the virtual machine”
From now here just following the on screen instruction to install Mac OS X Lion. Should be pretty straight forward.
When you done installing Mac OS X Lion on the Virtual Machine, go download the VMware tools inside the new Mac OS X Lion
Double click “Install VMware Tools”
After you finish installing the VMware tools, reboot the machine now you should have native screen resolutions.
From now on, it’s highly suggested to take a snapshot of the working VM. Incase in the future you done anything that messed up the machine you can always rollback to previous working state with the save of snapshot. From this moment on, you can also remove the second hard drive (the bootable Lion installer vmdk file) that you’ve added to the VM earlier.
You should be able to install the 10.7.1 update without an issue.
Warning: Please ONLY update to 10.7.1 and take a snapshot of your working system BEFORE any attempts update to the latest 10.7.2 update release, which will likely cause kernel panic. You can download the update patch to 10.7.1 here
Update on 10.7.2:
Here are the steps to enable your VM successfully update to the latest 10.7.2 Lion which includes iCloud and many other integrations. (Thanks to one of our commentator Jay)
1. Download the 10.7.2 combo update from Apple’s website, don’t try to update it from Update.
2. Don’t apply the update yet, make sure you have taken the snapshot of your current system
3. Open Terminal inside Lion
4. run the following command, including the dot at the end.
cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext .
5. Now apply the update, but don’t reboot after it’s finished.
6. now go back to terminal and at the same directory location run the following command
7. sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext
8. sudo cp -r AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext /System/Library/Extensions
9. reboot
Optional – Enable VMware Shared Folder

After you’ve had a fully working Lion you can enable the VMware share folder to your Windows 7 host machine. So this way the VM will have access to your Windows 7 file.
To do this, go to the “Virtual Machine Settings” when it was powered off.
Go under options tab, select “Shared Folders”
Pick “Always enable” and click “OK”
Go “Browse..” the folder that you wish to share to.
From here you can pick and choose to make the folder to be “Read-only” or “Enable this share”
That’s all there is. Finish the wizard and power on the VM again you should now see the mount folder on your Lion desktop that points to your Windows 7 shared folder.
Happy Virtual Machine !

Exclusive: How to Replace iPhone 3G/3GS Baseband Chip Step-by-Step Guide with Photos

If you are familiar with DIY electronics repairs and do not mind destroying your iPhone, you can refer to the rough guide below on how to replace your baseband chip pre-programmed with baseband 5.13.04 (or lower) which can be unlocked using ultrasn0w 1.2. This method will fix your iPhone’s GPS issue (baseband 6.15.00).

What you need:
  • Hot air gun
  • Solder paste
  • Soldering iron
  • Tweezers
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Pre-programmed replacement baseband chip (you can purchase this from us)
  • Good lighting, table etc.
  • Patience
WARNING: This is not meant for amateurs. We are not responsible for any damage caused to your iPhone. Please always practice safety first.

Steps:
1. Disassemble your iPhone and remove the logic board. See Google video here.
2. Remove the EMI shield and take note of the baseband chip marked ‘X.’

3. Cover the surrounding area of the mainboard and use a hot air gun to melt the solder that holds the chip. Ideally, the temperature should be around 290 degree C. Check out some YouTube videos here.

4. Gently remove the baseband chip from the logic board.

5. Clean up any residue left on the logic board with a soldering gun and rub the area with a piece of cotton dabbed with alcohol.

6. A close-up view of the cleaned area of the logic board.

7. Now you are ready to mount the new baseband chip. See YouTube video here for recommended ways to do it.

8. Once you have mounted the chip, wait for at least half an hour before reassembling your iPhone.
9. Turn on your iPhone and check that you now have an older baseband 5.13.04.

10. Jailbreak your iPhone if you haven’t done so and unlock it with ultrasn0w. You now have an unlocked iPhone and your GPS and other issues should be resolved.

Note: This method does not make your iPhone factory-unlocked. You still have to be careful not to update it directly via iTunes.

Redsn0w 0 9 8b2 released for iOS 5 beta 3 tethered jailbreak on iPhone iPad and iPod touch

The iPhone Dev Team have updated their redsn0w jailbreak program. They have now released redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 2 for jailbreaking iOS 5 beta 3 tethered on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 is available for download on both Windows and Mac machines.

MuscleNerd, member of the iPhone Dev Team tweeted:
redsn0w 0.9.8b2 http://is.gd/6eek4Y should fix 50b3 App Store issue (if youre already JB, just use this to boot tethered)
Basically, those who had jailbroken iOS 5 beta 3 with redsn0w 0.9.8b1 were complaining that apps downloaded from the App Store were not opening. This is a sandbox issue, and to fix that, redsn0w 0.9.8b2 has been released which now recognizes the ipsws of all three iOS 5 betas. So when you follow our guide to jailbreak iOS 5 using redsn0w, just select the iOS 5 beta 3 ipsw and boot tethered. No need to re-run the jailbreak if you have already jailbroken iOS 5 beta 3 with redsn0w 0.9.8b1.

On the other hand, if you are doing a fresh jailbreak, then you obviously have to install Cydia. Do remember that this jailbreak is tethered and will require you to connect the device to the computer each time it has to boot up.

Help Chronic Dev Team to Find Jailbreak Vulnerability for U Jailbreak Ios5 Win Mac

Greetings, friends & jailbreakers
!

It has now been several months since I (posixninja) took the stage at JailbreakCon (fka MyGreatFest) in London. Since then, I & other members of the Chronic Dev team have been keeping quietly busy on many fronts, so I thought it was about time to give you all a brief update.

Update on iOS5 Jailbreak
First & foremost: during my JailbreakCon talk in September, I was excited to announce that the Chronic Dev team had already discovered 5 different exploits for use in our upcoming jailbreak. Unfortunately, that announcement was a bit premature, because in the subsequent weeks, Apple found & patched a (critical) few of those exploits, between the beta versions we used for testing and the final release of iOS5 on October 12.

Sadly (and trust us, we are much more sad about this than any of you could possibly be), this has prevented us from being able to release a new jailbreak as quickly as we wanted to. As I hinted at earlier this week on Twitter, I was initially disheartened to think that so many of the countless hours we’ve worked on this jailbreak seemingly went right down the drain.

Not to mention, these are by no means the first exploits that have been “lost” by Chronic Dev (or any other iOS hacking teams) in this manner. In fact, these are just a few in a long-running series of exploits that were patched by Apple before we hackers could make use of them in a free jailbreak for you, our loyal fans.

Well, to be frank… this is bull****!!! And now, Chronic Dev is ready to turn this little information battle into an all-out, no-holds-barred information WAR. So we want to use this experience as an opportunity to explain the method Apple uses to find potential vulnerabilities, as well as to unveil our new master plan, which should not only prevent this from happening to us again in the future, but also allow us to use all of you to find more exploits, so we can ultimately get an untethered jailbreak into your hands as quickly as possible.

How Apple Finds Exploits
One of the primary challenges in working with userland exploits is that, every time any program crashes on your iPhone, a “crash report” is generated and instantly sent back to Apple. As you can imagine, while we’re working out all the kinks in the exploitation of a vulnerability, we may need to crash any particular program thousands & thousands of times.

It’s possible to change your iTunes settings to stop sending this diagnostic information back to Apple, and of course everyone in Chronic Dev has made this change on all our development machines. However, even this is not always 100% effective at preventing Apple from obtaining our data. For instance, if one of us is at a friend’s house and plugs our iPhone up to his or her computer (even just to charge it), it’s very likely that computer is set up to send all our valuable data & crash reports right back to Apple.

As a side note, this is also the primary reason we’re unable to perform or allow any public beta testing of our software before it’s released. Any potential beta tester could be unknowingly sending crash reports back to Apple, which would prematurely alert the company to our exploits & the discovery of their vulnerabilities before we even have the chance to release.

Help Us Help You: Send Us Your Crash Reports
Instead of allowing this vicious cycle to continue, we decided to write a new program to turn Apple’s own beast against its master, per se. All this program requires from you is to attach your iOS device to your computer and click a single button!

At this point, the program copies all the crash reports off your device (which, under normal circumstances, would be sent right back to Apple), and instead sends this data to a secure, private server hosted by your friendly Chronic Dev team. Next, our program proceeds to neuter your copy of iTunes, simply by changing your settings to prevent your computer from sending any further diagnostic information from your device to Apple.

Using this agglomeration of your crash reports and our ninja skills, Chronic Dev will be able to quickly pinpoint vulnerabilities in various programs by using the same techniques Apple currently employs. At the very least, your data will help point us in the direction of which applications are the most vulnerable, so we can focus our time & energy on these with laser-like intensity. And, of course, this will also prevent Apple from accessing all your valuable data, just so they can then turn around and use it against you.

Thank You!
Many thanks in advance for your prompt response & help in this effort, your continued support of GreenPois0n & the Chronic Dev team, and your patience while we continue our never-ending, diligent work on your (free!! coming soon!) untethered jailbreak for iOS5 and/or iPhone 4S.
One final THANKS! While I have spent many of my own hours on the development, design & programming of this tool, especially the back-end, I also owe a great debt of gratitude to:

  • C-Dev hacker Nikias & his lovely wife Hanene – for the many tedious hours they spent programming the front-end & user-friendly interface;
  • C-Dev member OPK – for his graphic design work & the brilliant logo for this app; and
  • Chronic-Dev, LLC – for graciously hosting the servers where we will store the (fingers crossed) millions of crash reports and other data that you all are going to send us momentarily, via this link…

NOTE
: This link is to the Mac beta version of our software. An updated/final Mac version as well as a Windows version will be available in the next 24 hours.

Finally, we will be making a more concerted effort to keep you updated on our progress in the days & weeks to come, so keep checking back here on our blog!
